About the role
The Security Engineer is responsible for securing applications, systems, and data in lending and financial services environments. The role monitors for vulnerabilities, implements controls, and ensures compliance with security standards.
This position ensures that operations remain secure and resilient to cyber threats.
Responsibilities and competencies
- Implement security controls across systems and applications
- Conduct security assessments and penetration tests
- Monitor and respond to security incidents
- Support compliance with regulatory security requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design secure systems
- Security risk assessment and mitigation
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving in security contexts
- Documentation and reporting
Requirements
- Minimum of 2:1 in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technology field, or equivalent education in security engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in application or infrastructure security
- Knowledge of security standards in financial services
- Familiarity with threat monitoring and incident response
- Understanding of regulatory security requirements
