Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd (WSACCO) is one of Uganda's largest and most prominent Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs). Registered in September 2005, it was established by the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) and the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) to provide affordable financial services to military personnel, veterans, civilian staff, and eligible members. Requirements
The basic requirements to apply for a loan on Wazalendo SACCO include:
- • Must be a registered Wazalendo SACCO member.
- • Must have been a member for at least 6 months (Quick and School Fees Loans) or 12 months (Development Loans).
- • Must complete the official loan application form.
- • Must provide a recent passport photograph.
- • Must provide recent bank statements showing salary payments.
- • Must obtain a Letter of Authority from Wazalendo SACCO where applicable.
- • Must maintain shares and savings equivalent to at least 25% of the loan amount.
- • Must provide two guarantors for Development and School Fees Loans.
- • Monthly loan deductions must generally not exceed 40% of the member's salary.
- • Additional documentation may be required depending on the loan type.
