KNET (The Shared Electronic Banking Services Company) is Kuwait’s national electronic payment network, established by local banks to connect their systems and provide a unified infrastructure for secure digital and card-based transactions across the country. Founded in the early 1990s, KNET serves as the backbone of Kuwait’s payment ecosystem, enabling interoperability between all major banks and supporting ATM services, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, online payments, and real-time transfers.
