About RSwitch

RSwitch (Rwanda National Switch) is Rwanda’s national payment switch infrastructure, operated under the oversight of the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR). It connects banks, microfinance institutions, mobile money operators, and payment service providers into a single interoperable network, enabling seamless financial transactions across the country.

RSwitch is not a lender or consumer-facing financial app. Instead, it is a backend payment infrastructure that ensures interoperability between different financial systems—allowing users to send money between banks and mobile wallets, use ATMs across networks, and make digital payments efficiently.
